Elegant & Crisp

Work in the vineyard takes place based on sustainable and, increasingly, organic principles, without the use of insecticides or herbicides, and grapes are hand-picked. The grapes are carefully selected and then processed in a pneumatic tank press, with the must then fermented under controlled temperature and aged on their fine lees in stainless steel tanks.

The wine expresses delicate lemon notes, white pepper, quince, and dried herbs. This medium-bodied wine is very fruit-driven and harmonious with fresh crisp acidity.

The Grüner Veltliner Weissenkirchen goes perfectly with Mediterranean cuisines such as a Piccata Milanese or authentic goat and sheep cheese on leafy salads and beef carpaccio. It is also an excellent companion to Austrian cuisine such as stuffed peppers or Serbian pikeperch and also accompanies fine sushi & sashimi.

About the Winery

Domäne Wachau

Domäne Wachau, led by Roman Horvath MW and Heinz Frischengruber, has developed into one of the top wineries in Austria, with an excellent range of Wachau wines that beautifully reflect origin. World-famous vineyards such as Achleiten, Kellerberg and Singerriedel are just a part of the wealth of top sites managed by Domäne Wachau.

The work of the vintner families is of crucial relevance to the entire winery. With many of these families active for several generations on the steep terraces of the Wachau, they know the special features of each vineyard plot. Through their loving attention to detail combined with enormous experience, they ensure that there is ecological balance, promote diversity and increasingly rely on organic farming.
